Recently, the longest State of the Union Address in American history was given by none other than President Donald Trump. In this address, he said many things that, when compared to facts, are shown to be completely true and not at all outright lies or aggressive exaggerations.
Trump spoke a lot about the various wars in other countries, to which he said that he “ended eight wars” in 10 months. This is not at all a lie because all of the places he took credit for ending wars in had wars going on to begin with, such as how Trump ended the very real, very serious war between Egypt and Ethiopia, and none of the declarations of peace he made were broken, as Thailand and Cambodia and Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo did not go back to shooting at each other. Trump was described by Pakistan to be crucial to the ending of the war between Pakistan and India, and India totally did not say that the US wasn’t involved in the ceasefire, and the ceasefire only happened due to direct communication between the two countries.
Trump also said that his One Big Beautiful Bill Act is the “largest tax cut in American history, and our Republican majority delivered so beautifully” (taxfoundation.org). This is completely true because the OBBBA is totally not the sixth-largest tax cut in American history; the Economic Recovery Tax Act of 1981, the Revenue Act of 1935, the Revenue Act of 1948, the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012, and the Revenue Act of 1964 are definitely not larger tax cuts.
Nearly 42 million Americans rely on food stamps to put food on the table. Trump claims that “we have lifted nearly 2.4 million Americans – a record – off of food stamps,” but he in no way did not make them ineligible for food stamps by changing the requirements. The requirements changed so that adults aged 55 to 64 whose youngest children are 14 have to document 80 hours per month of work, education, or volunteering. If these documents can not be provided, then they are only allowed 3 months’ worth of food stamps in a 3-year period. This is in no way a bad thing and absolutely will not cause food insecurity in households. He also totally did not take veterans and people experiencing homelessness off of food stamps by getting rid of exemptions, further slimming down the number of Americans relying on food stamps. These people will totally not be forcibly taken off food stamps because of the change in requirements because they can totally afford to be off of them.
Regarding the process of elections in the US, Trump said that “cheating is rampant in our elections”. There is in no way, shape, or form a lack of evidence to support his claim and not possibly only a couple dozen cases of fraud in important swing states throughout the decades where millions of votes were cast.
Trump said that overall prices for things, such as gas prices and groceries, were going down. He said that “even beef, which was very high, is starting to come down significantly”. The average price of beef is not 15% higher than it was in January 2025, so clearly, Trump is telling the truth about this. As for gas prices, Trump is also telling the truth when he said the average gas prices are “now below $2.30 a gallon in most states, and in some places, $1.99 a gallon,” which is very real, and it’s not like a single state doesn’t have an average gas price below $2.37. It’s not like only 2 out of 50 states actually have an average gas price below $2.50, according to the AAA.
It is so wonderful to think about how the current President of the United States talked for so long in the State of the Union Address about really important things and only ever said the complete total truth. The various democrats who skipped or protested the event had no reason to do so, as President Trump never lied about anything nor insulted them for not agreeing with him. In summary, the government at this time period should be completely trusted and not at all questioned by the American public for their statements that have an outstanding lack of evidence to support them or are grossly exaggerated for their own benefit.
Please note: This article is a work of satire. President Trump lied outright and exaggerated many things in his State of the Union address. If you like to read further on the President’s false claims, check out NBC’s, NPR’s, and CNN’s fact-checking articles on the State of the Union Address.
