It looks like it will be a cold Valentine’s Day this year so huddle up with a drink, dessert, and maybe a loved one. Here are the top three cozy cafes to visit with your date or pal:
Ooh Macaron:
Located in downtown Bothell, this cute cafe has an all around adorable aesthetic and is my top recommendation. The decor is pastel from the walls to the refreshments. As its name suggests, they sell a variety of macarons, but they even offer ice cream sandwiches and hot paninis. Many of their drinks successfully balance their sweetness level and are usually cheaper than Sharetea. I personally enjoy their matcha because combined with their whipped cream, it tastes like vanilla ice cream! Beware that there is limited seating inside and that may especially be the case during Valentine’s Day.
Bobae:
Located in Woodinville, this cafe has a pig theme with the whole store painted pink and is my next best recommendation. They also have fairly limited seating and run on the more expensive end. They offer a variety of Macarons but I would say they’re best known for their especially naturally colorful drinks derived from fruit and unique ingredients. They serve a lot of “Nitro” drinks, which is just a coffee or tea infused with nitrogen gas that supposedly makes it foamy and smooth. My personal favorite drink is the butterfly lavender lemonade because they pour the peaflower syrup in front of you when they serve it where you get to see the color change from blue to purple!
Yezi Coconut Dessert:
Located in Bellevue Square, so if you’re going to the mall on Valentine’s Day be sure to check out this place! They offer a variety of coconut drinks and puddings that are served with different flavors. The taste is not overpowering at all; in most of the drinks it only enhances the other flavors instead of taking the main stage, and the pudding desserts have an addictive flavor. I would say the price is medium range while the puddings are more expensive than the drinks. I find that the best part of this cafe is that you get to take home the glass jars and it can be like a keepsake of your Valentine’s date. I personally love the rose peach gum coconut cup, the flavor is gentle and the chewy peach gum mixes beautifully with the smooth coconut pudding.
