Staying in for Autumn because it’s just too cold out? Ms. Lisa Carson, Michael Marquess II (‘20) and I have some horror movies to recommend for you to watch this fall season, as well as some recommendations from denofgeek.com.  So stay warm from the chilly breeze, and cuddle up on the couch to see some of these spooky favorites.

  • Marquess’s favorite spooky movie around this time of year is David Robert Mitchell’s  “It Follows” (2014). He likes the movie because it’s newer, unique, and good quality, despite a “low budget for the filming of the movie.”
  • Carson’s favorite movie is James Wan’s “The Conjuring” (2013) because it’s “not gory,” and she doesn’t like gore.
  • My own favorite horror movie is Stephen King’s “It” (2017) because of the jumpscares and suspense.
  • John Krasinskis “A Quiet Place” (2018)
  • M. Night Shyamalan’s “Split” (2017)
  • Na Hong Jin’s “The Wailing” (2016)
  • James Wan’s “The Conjuring”  (2013)
  • James Wan’s “The Conjuring 2” (2016)
  • Travis Zariwny’s “Cabin fever” (2016)
  • Fritz Kiersch’s “Children of the corn” (1984)
  • Michael Thelin’s “Emelie” (2015)
  • Mike Flanagan’s “Hush” (2016)
  • Mike Flanagan’s “Oculus” (2014)
