(We interrupt your newspaper reading with Cat, Fox, and American Bird Talk about Random Stuff)

Bartholomew the Cat and Copper the Fox are sitting on a laptop’s keyboard, staring up at the screen. It is open on an article about pet sitting. The two silently stare at the screen before Copper suddenly perks up. He begins to look around before slowly turning his head towards Bartholomew.

“Batholomew, may I inquire why we are looking at this particular topic on this device?” Cooper asks before returning to looking around for someone.

“Also, why are we doing this without American Bird?”

Bartholomew blankly stares at the screen before suddenly becoming aware of Cooper’s presence and quickly turning to face him.

“Oh, hey Cooper!” Bartholomew chirps carefreely, “Did you say something? I wasn’t really paying attention.”

Cooper sighs before repeating, “I said, why are we looking at an article about pet sitting, and why is American Bird not here with us to read this?”

Batholomew slowly blinks before putting on a thinking expression. He ponders for a moment before suddenly remembering.

“Ah! I think it’s because American Bird is getting taken care of by one of the boss’s friends? So he cannot be here in person to talk about this.”

A moment then passes before Bartholomew adds on, “Oh! Maybe that’s why we’re looking at this topic! Because we are technically pets, whenever someone else besides the boss takes care of us, it is considered pet sitting?”

“Hm, I suppose that could make sense… plus I was recently taken care of by another one of the boss’s friends,” Cooper notes, “So I guess this topic also applies to me.”

Bartholomew pouts, “Aw, no fair, how come I’m the only one who has not been pet sat by someone?”

Cooper shrugs, “I don’t know, ask the boss.”

At that moment, a tired-looking human walks over to the Chromebook where the two animals are. Bartholomew perks up before looking up at the human.

“Oh! Hey boss! How come I don’t get pet sat like the other two-”

The human then quickly snatches up Bartholomew before slumping down into a chair and passing out with the little cat in his arms.

Cooper blinks before saying to himself, “Ohhhh right… Bartholomew is the boss’s favorite.”

Meanwhile, at the friend’s house where American Bird is located:

“AHAHAHAHA!” American Bird crackles, “I LOVE THIS HOUSE, IT IS VERY AMERICAN!”

“I JUST LOVE ALL THE-”
