One afternoon, I was in the middle of interviewing a former teacher and alumni for my other article on BHS’s newspaper class when I first came to find out about the Catamount archives. Mr. Crouch and Malavika Santhosh, my gracious interviewees, had told me so much about these archives that I just had to beg Clara Frost (‘26) and Mrs. Matthews to put aside time during our weekly Catamount meetings to sort through the treasure trove. I mean, there was a whole shelf stacked with issues dating back to the 1930s! That’s how I convinced the Catamount newspaper club to spend hours after school one Friday, sifting through decades worth of BHS news with me. They took it well, as all of us gasped and giggled at the insane, historic papers. This, here, is a scanned copy of a 1996 issue highlighting an old tradition. BHS seniors would (jokingly) leave a will for their underclassmen before graduation, bequeathing anything and everything, from their parking passes to their gossiping abilities. This made graduation all the more special for our school!
