(We interrupt your newspaper reading with Cat, Fox, and American Bird Talk about Random Stuff)
Bartholomew the Cat, Copper the Fox, and American Bird are sitting on a table in the Bothell High School library, looking up at some random student’s open laptop. The laptop is opened, displaying an article on cougars (the species of cat, not the mascot of Bothell High School that is named after the species, nor the nickname students have in this high school). Bartholomew then turns his head over to the other two.
“Hmm, something feels different today,” Bartholomew declares, tapping Cooper’s shoulder to try and get his attention.
“Do you have any ideas why, Cooper?”
Cooper, while continuing to stare up at the laptop screen, responds with “Not sure what you mean by that Bartholomew, I am more confused about why we are looking at this article about a large cat native to the Americas-.”
Cooper is then interrupted by American Bird screeching, “THAT IS A VERY AMERICAN FELINE, WHAT ARE YOUR OPINIONS ABOUT THE “COUGAR,” MY VERY AMERICAN FOX FRIEND?”
“First of all, do not scream when you’re so close to my ears,” Copper grumbles as he turns to face the loud eagle, “and, to answer your question, they’re alright I suppose?”
“I don’t have any strong opinions about them.”
“I THINK THEY ARE VERY AMERICAN!
“Of course you do-”
“AFTER ALL, THE ARTICLE SAYS THEY INHABIT EVERY AMERICA! THE NORTH ONE, THE CENTRAL ONE, AND THE SOUTH ONE!”
Copper squints his eyes, “Okay? Can you please stop interrupting me though-?”
Bartholomew then perks up to the sounds of footsteps. He turns around and sees his human boss typing away at his phone. Bartholomew smiles.
“Oh! Hey boss!” Bartholomew cheerfully chirps, “My friends and I were just reading about Cougars! I think they’re neat, what about you?”
The human rudely ignores Bartholomew as he finishes typing something on his phone. The human then looks down at Bartholomew before showing the cat his phone screen. Bartholomew blinks and squints at it.
“Ohhhh!” Bartholomew exclaims, “You’re recording our interactions to use for our little random topic show!” Bartholomew then processes his own words before saying, “Wait, is the show now us just reading Wikipedia articles now-?”
