For the mid-winter break of 2024, my family and I went to Olympic National Park. We stayed at Kalaloch Lodge, a short distance from Forks and Lake Quinault. The cabins are close to the cliff and allow easy access to the beach below. Between April and May, or October and November, you can catch sight of whales and orcas in the ocean. Several beaches have tide pools for those less keen on whale watching or forest hikes. This trip was not my first time staying at Kalaloch, but I found it equally beautiful and awe-inspiring as before. There are plenty of stunning views that provide lots of opportunities for photography. I’ve collected a few of my best pictures here.
