Every year, Bothell High School hosts an afterschool event called Night of the Arts. During this event, students can visit Bothell to view and admire their peers’ artwork and even their own! The visual arts featured are from different levels of all the art classes offered at Bothell, including ceramics, photography, stained glass, cartooning, and much more. And it’s not just visual arts—it also features food from the culinary arts program, music from the performing arts, and sets from musicals and drama classes. But why should you attend the Night of the Arts?
I asked our Bothell art teachers why they recommend attending. Our ceramics teacher Ms. Thomas said, “I think Night of the Arts is an incredible event for people to support their peers, and see some of the artwork that’s being made in classrooms across campus.” Ms. Stockton, our visual arts teacher, replied “I recommend going to the Night of the Arts because it really showcases such a wide range of art and talents. Visual, sculptural, musical, theatrical, and even some computer design. It is the one opportunity each year for the entire school and community to witness all of the incredible talent we foster here at Bothell High School. It is also a fun social event with no shortage of interesting conversation pieces.”
Knowing this, what can you expect when attending the Night of the Arts? Our photography and stained glass teacher Ms. Goldsmith responded “Students can expect to see displays of artwork from classes like photography, ceramics, stained glass, cartooning, computer graphics, and all the different levels of art. The culinary arts will provide snacks, and there will be performances by drama, choir, and instrumental music classes.”
Night of the Arts will be held in the Bothell High School gym on May 23rd from 6 pm to 8 pm. Come to Night of the Arts to experience great music, eat tasty food, and appreciate art made by our hard-working students!
