Hey Cougs, are you ready for a summer of fun and late nights? From jamming out at Summer Nights in Bothell to chilling on a kayak on the Sammamish River, I’ve got the scoop on where to be through the summer in Bothell. Want to know the best thing about these activities? You don’t have to travel far to find the fun, it’s all happening right here!
Summer Nights in Bothell
This event is every Friday night from 6-9 pm, from July 12th to August 17th, 2024. These nights are full of music, art, food, and celebration in your backyard. Events are throughout downtown Bothell at Main Street, Bothell Landing, and the City Hall Plaza. Enjoy outdoor concerts at the amphitheater in Bothell Landing, food trucks, seating areas, and yard games. You can park in the gravel lot by the Baskin-Robbins or in the underground parking at City Hall.
4th of July Parade and Car Show
Every summer, our town has a 4th of July Parade down Main Street and Bothell Way. You can catch the firefighters on top of their trucks at the start of the parade, along with many other floats and even a pirate ship. Besides the city’s historic parade, there are many events during the day, including a pancake breakfast and a classic car show. The pancake breakfast is from 8:30 to 10:30 am at Bothell Landing. They have free pancakes, drinks, and the chance to tour and sit in a fire truck. The classic car show is at our very own Pop Keeney Stadium from 10 am to 3 pm. There is a large variety of cars from classic muscle cars to current Dodge Challengers.
Bothell Landing and Blyth Park
Our local park of Bothell Landing with the Sammamish River running through the middle of the park is full of fun activities. At Bothell Landing, you can rent kayaks or paddle boards at the park from WhatsSup Paddle but it requires a reservation online and a guardian if you are under 18 to be with you. If you get a rental it can be a fun time floating down the river and you could even make it to Lake Washington if you paddle for long enough. You can take a walk down the Burke Gilman trail along the river to Blyth Park. While at Blyth Park, you can play a 10-hole disc golf course that is hours of fun as long as you do not almost lose your disc on hole seven (I’m sorry Keiton). Or you can go the other way, to get to Wilman Gateway Park with a large grass field and Woodinville Sports Fields across the street.
Even in just downtown Bothell, there are lots of fun activities to spend your summer without having to travel far. As summer begins, I hope these ideas can help you have a fun-filled and eventful summer of 24’ in your backyard of Bothell.
